Pure pleasure in walking barefoot [1 December 2016]
When such gentle paths lure, pure pleasure in barefoot walking comes up: sandals taken off, because they can be carried better in the hand instead of on foot. One can hardly let the feet sink more gently in than in such a comfortable environment! Instead of walking through barefoot hikes, I use the AIREX Balance Pad now in winter: You sink in there also (a little) and keeping the balance on the flexible ground trains the muscles of the feet particularly, when lifting a leg from the mat!
D · Nude hiking and biking weekend in the Münsterland [25 September 2016]
Thank you very much!
27 September 2016: Thank you very much indeed for your liberal acquiescence! [supplemented on 13 Febrary 2017]
The hike on Saturday, 24 September 2016, started several times surprising: Despite the directions given, two fellow travelers were not sure, at which wind wheel we would meet. "You're funny, there are so many wind wheels here," one of them said. It is actually pleasing, that the turn to regenerative energy supply already shows so many visible results, that the hint "Meeting at the wind wheel" can confuse foreign visitors despite accurate directions.
But the biggest surprise triggered the two by asking at a farm nearby, at which of the many wind wheels the naturists would meet. This prompted the senior farmer to drive to our meeting point and inquire, why there were so many vehicles parked at the wind wheel.
He smiled, as he asked, if we were the ones, who had hiked and cycled nude in the area a few weeks earlier, and if we were the ones, who had dined nude in the restaurant "Das kleine Kartoffelhaus" [en: "The Little Potato House"]. We confirmed that. He informed us, that the parking lot at the wind wheel is actually reserved for the operator of the wind wheel, who occasionally has to bring large-scale equipment there, to carry out maintenance or emergency work. He allowed us to park on his private property for the day. Our tour was saved!
At the beginning of the following week, two of us visited the farm, to say thank you with a bottle of good regional, wood-barreled corn schnapps and a "thank you" card. They were lucky, met senior and junior farmer, and a conversation begun. Therefore, we now know, that farmers have to lease the land needed for a wind wheel to the respective wind wheel operator and in return have to contractually commit to keep the spaces at the wind wheels clear. In the future, of course, we will take this into account and will no longer park at wind wheels.

Nude hiking in south-west Münsterland, Germany [25 September 2016]
Barefoot On crushed stones? Brrrrr!
The last Sunday in September once again offered a high summer day with temperatures of up to 28 °C and dep-blue sky. Nude hikers in the Münsterland, nearby Hamburg, nearby Marburg and in Swabia were drown into nature, in order not to miss this splendid day.
Of course, many groups, who prefer to hike or cycle in sweated clothes, had also made their way into nature, and so many encounters between nude and clothed nature lovers happened on this day, all of which were in friendly, mutual understanding. Particularly noteworthy were the farmers active in 12 to 13 hours of work, who wanted to use the dry weather and bring their corn harvest before the next rainfall.
In the south-western part of the Münsterland, an international group of hikers had gathered together, who had the option to walk through a meadow or through a neighboring brook, the latter also offered an occasional whole body cooling.
The final visit at the Haus Waldfrieden was dominated by the Oktoberfest celebrated 600 km away. The most popular dish was Bavarian Sauerbraten, which shows a much more distinct taste compared to the dish with that name in the Rhineland. We were very satisfied!
Nude biking and hiking weekend in the Münsterland, Germany [24 September 2016]
Continuation of the Westphalian Naturist Days [de: Westfälische Naturisten-Tage (WNT)]
The last weekend of September should again spend a nice and warm weather, so the initiators of the WNT> offered a continuation: 17 naturists splitted into a hiking and a biking group and started their tour with sunshine at 19 °C.
For the bikers, the airstream was still a bit cool, but the temperature arose quickly and reached over 25 °C. 58 km made the biking group on their tour, the hikers needed an hour and a half longer for their 24 km.
Bikers and hikers in the north-western Münsterland were greeted with funny comments or questions. The hiking group frequently passed farms along their trail, where they were often waved and greeted by joyous groups of children and their adult companions, while the men and elder youngsters of the farm worked on the corn harvest in 12-hour shifts.
Towards the end of the hike, a group of nude bikers met the group halfway. A sportive biker, who passed them at the same time, said: «And I always thought, I was clothed slightly, but you do it right!»
At the end of the day, we stopped again for a bite to eat at the inn «Zum kleinen Kartoffelhaus» [en: «At The Small Potato-House»] in Altenberge, where the naturists were served again exquisitely. Because a dinner in the nude in August in Altenberge> has been well around, we also left here some brochures about nude life for information for interested restaurant guests.
D · Nude hiking days in Bavaria [15 September 2016]
Nude in the meadows of the river Isar, Munich, Germany [15 September 2016]
At the end of the beautiful Upper Bavarian Naturist Days, the naturists experienced the Isar river between the Flaucher, a since 120 years existing nature reserve in the middle of Munich, and Grünwald at 23 °C and sunshine.
The meadows of the Isar have been restored with great success in recent years. Plants, animals and people feel equally well. A heron waited not far from the Flaucher on a stone in the crystal-clear water for food swimming by. Information panels describe the measures for renaturation, signs inform about the naturally behavior in nature: no broken pieces of glass and no garbage left behind.
Between two nude hikes of about 6 und 11 km, we have had a typical Bavairian Brotzeit in a small beer garden directly nearby the Flaucher. And a bath in the 16 °C warm water of the Isar could not be missing!

The hike of the Nude Alex to the Gumpen [14 September 2016]
20 naturists gathered to hike with Alex on his tour to some Gumpen. Up to 23 °C air temperature and sunshine were the pleasant conditions, so that a bath in one of the numerous Gumpen with 9 °C to 10 °C water temperature always offered a welcome refreshment. One Gumpe even had a natural shower of its own, the falling water of which had a strong massaging effect.
After arriving at the Sylvensteinsee [en: Lake Sylvenstein], the participants entered the over 500-year-old inn Zum Altwirt [en: At The Old Barkeeper] in Lenggries and then switched, in order to end calmfully an eventful day, to the neighboring ice cream parlour. Report and photo: Horst and Rainer
Naturist prussians*) continue to travel in Bavaria [13 September 2016]
The prussian*) naturists in Bavaria explored at 29 °C air temperature the meadows and gentle slopes at the Loisach River near Garmisch-Partenkirchen with the impressive panorama around the mountain Zugspitze and the Karwendel mountains. The time of bathing in the Loisach has been slightly shortened due to its water temperature of 10 °C.
Particularly exciting was the walk along the water path - it was almost as overgrown as the Amazon jungle. Leisure teams on inflatable boats, in canoes or on horseback in the river greeted as friendly as a farmer from his tractor at the hay harvest.

Naturists' meeting in upper Bavaria [12 September 2016]
Turther upwards on the river Isar River, the naturists explored the impressive natural river landscape halfway through the water, half on pebbles, in sunshine, blue skies, at 26 °C air temperature, and there at the upper reaches of the Isar refreshing 10 °C water temperature. Walking sticks proved to be useful in balancing on the differently sized pebbles of the water, but partly less useful because of locally strong currents.
Fortunately, passages with strong currents were only short and not too frequent. And again and again, enough deep places with moderate flow offered the opportunity to a refreshing bath. We got a good idea of how river landscapes were before human interventions: meandering in a wide pebble bed, with relatively shallow water and constant changes in the river's course.
Afterwards, the return journey through shaded forests took place on a first pre-alpine rise, which was taken by a number of cyclists sportily, back to the starting point.
There, the naturists could once again bathe in the Isar and refresh themselves. Only comment from sunbathing textile weares near a parking lot for hikers on the edge of a village: 'Is not that too cold, do not you freeze? We were only with a foot in there, and it was too cold for us.' Well, after a hike at such a high air temperature, this is really a pleasant cool down.
We wished each other a nice day and went over the bridge. Sun and a friendly wind dried us, so that we did not even need a towel on arrival at the car.

Late summer naturists' meeting in upper Bavaria [11 September 2016]
Two prussians*) (from Thuringia and North Rhine-Westphalia) informed themselves a few days before the Nude Alex> offered a hiking tour to some Gumpen, about the naturists at the river Isar. They met with naturists from there and practiced in nude hiking and bathing in the sar at 29 °C air temperature and in refreshing water at 16 °C.
Nature was able to impress with a variety of plant life, crystal clear river water, fish and traces of work of beavers, whose buildings can be found right on the water's edge. Now, also two prussians know that Gumpen> are water-filled natural pools in the rocks, in which one can have a bath. Report and photo: Horst and Rainer
*) It is a running gag in Germany, that some people in Bavaria distinguish Germans only into Bavarians (i.e. themselves) and Prussians. Some – almost untranslatable – jokes make fun of that.
D · Weekend of nude hikes in the Rhön mountains [11 September 2016]
Sun 11 September: Round hike at the Ellenbogen [11 September 2016]
The Eisenach House on the Ellenbogen (814 m) was until 1989 a popular destination for Russian officers – the vodka flowed like water.
In the meantime, the Eisenach House is again an excursion inn and hotel for Rhön tourists. The view from the neighboring Ellenbogen [en: Elbow] marked the beginning of our nude hike, followed by the descent over mowed hayfields to the village of Kaltenwestheim and the ascent back to the starting point. With 350 m cumulative descent and ascent, the tour was quite challenging at the prevailing 28 °C afternoon temperature.
At the end of the day we arrived at Eisenacher Haus and enjoyed cool and hot drinks, cakes and ice cream. We took the memory of a successful Rhön weekend home!
Sat 10 September: Circling the Schwarzes Moor [10 September 2016]
On Saturday, we circled the area of the Schwarzes Moor [en: Black Moor] in a clockwise direction, starting with the waterfall at the Eisbach [en: Ice Brook].
Compared to similar hikes in earlier years, we met on the tour far more hiking groups: All approx. 25 encounters with textile wearers proceeded joyously up to animatedly, partly we could answer some advanced questions as to our hobby.
D · Tanzhaus nrw: »More than naked« – Choreography by Doris Uhlich [9 September 2016]
Season opening with 20 nude dancers on 8 and 9 Sep
The Tanzhaus NRW in Düsseldorf presents 20 nude dancers on stage for the season opening. "The staging becomes a good-humoured exploration of the human body, better: a still life of the flesh, in which the dancers wiggle, click, wobble, sweat, and clap their bodies together ...". is the notice in avance. The trailer gives a first impression of it.
YouTube Video: More than naked (Hebrew version)
Deep Link o the Tanzhaus website
At our request, the tanzhaus nrw gave us the freedom to move around the premises of the tanzhaus as we wished - even in the buff. Not only will 20 artists dance in the nude, but we will also - at least Friday evening - watch in the nude.
7 of the approx. 400 spectators were nude on Friday.
Nobody was surprised, when we took off all our clothes and left them in the cloak room. When we sat in the main hall as nude spectators between clothed ones, we were asked by many aside: "Why are you nude?" My most common answer was, "If I want to understand and empathise with the work of a nude artist, that's only possible, if I'm nude myself. You feel with them so much more intensely!"
The dance performance was very body oriented: Bobbing muscles of buttocks, arms, legs, and abdominals, penises and women's breasts following the centrifugal force, when jumping and jumping, bodies clashingly bouncing against another, athletic jumps and skilful falls onto the floor characterised the imression next to sensitively detailed studies of the human body: The performance was worth the trip!
D · 25 km nude bike tour through the south Münsterland [12 September 2016]
Between the towns of Beckum and Lippetal, there is enough space, to successfully complete a 25 km nude bike tour through the south Münsterland, which was a sheer pleasure at 31 °C air temperature in late summer! An oncoming driver turned around to point out a nursery in my cycling direction – but that was not necessary, because I wanted to turn aside anyway before reaching the village, as it complies with our habits.
Shortly, before I reached my home town, I started to put on clothes again – after all, I wanted to go shopping at the supermarket, and people seem to prefer to smell sweaty T-shirt compared sweat-free, body lotion scented human bodies. Strange, isn't it?
D · Nude bike tour through the Davert [3 September 2016]
53 km and some local local highlights along the route
The Davert is the largest contiguous forest area in the Münsterland, which until approx. 1800 was nearly always wet and foggy and was considered scary and dangerous. Only then did they start digging ditches for drainage.
The start of the bike ride along the Dortmund-Ems channel was a little bit cool at 19 °C, and occasionally even some drizzle. After lunch, however, as promised, we had sunshine and the temperature rose to more than 25 °C.
Among the highlights along the route were objects as diverse as a beautifully designed private chapel on a manor, the 200-year-old Teufelseiche [en Devil's Oak], the ammunition dump, that caused the British Air Force to bombard the area in World War II, and a tower house with loopholes (an old knight's seat) or a fortified house with 1.5 m thick brick walls.
At the end of the tour, we strolled in the nude through the Venne Moor and then had dinner with delicious Westphalian broad bean (bot.: Vicia faba) in the restaurant Zur Davert in Daversberg.
